YOU To Participate

Saturday, August 17 – 8:00 am

It’s right around the corner and this is a huge fundraiser for the Exchange Club Family Resource Center. Your participating on this day will go a long way in helping our Parent Aides work with client families to remove obstacles in that particular home and help prevent child abuse.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Participate – If you are a runner, sign up and join with others as you run to eliminate child abuse. Use the link to the registration form
  • Participate – Not a runner…WALK by joining the health walk. Even better, challenge friends or folks in your company if you work to join in with you for the walk. It’s that easy and if your group is 10 or more (runners and/or walkers) you save $3 per person on the registration fee. Use this link to the Registration Form
  • Help Promote The Event – Now this is an easy one that everyone can do. Ask if you can hang one where you work, shop, eat. etc. Pick Up A Bunch At Exchange.
  • Volunteer – Watch your inbox for a special email from the Tillman Race asking you to volunteer in some capacity. Be sure and fill it out and finish it on line.

Who was Gary Tillman?

One of the major fundraisers for our Family Resource Center is the Gary Tillman Memorial 5K Clocktower Run and 2 Mile Health Walk. But who was Gary Tillman?

Gary was a very active member of the Exchange Club of Rome. He was in the insurance business and specialized in aviation insurance since he was a very active pilot himself and had customers around the world. He was also an avid runner and a fantastic supporter of Rome’s Family Resource Center.

Gary was killed in an airplane crash off the coast of Florida in 2005 along with his 16 year old daughter Hannah, and a classmate of hers, Anna Kipp. It is only fitting this race is held each year in his memory.
