Assistance Needed with November General Election
We have been contacted by Pete McDonald, Floyd County Elections Supervisor, to assist with the November General Election. He needs volunteers to help on October 26th through November 4th. We will need at least three volunteers at a time, as this is required by law. We have six volunteers but could use at least three or four more. Our role will be to log the absentee ballots onto sheets and then open the ballots and scan them in for tabulation on November 8th. We will NOT be counting votes. This will qualify for one of our Americanism projects under Get Out the Vote. If you are interested and can work any of those days please contact Gail Johnson at 706-346-9348 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will have more information closer to the date about times and how many people he wants at one time. He estimates that there will be about 1000 absentee ballots.
