This week I have the pleasure to highlight Susi Edwards! Susi and her husband Reed moved to Rome from Michigan 50 years ago to begin their careers. Reed started his business Skinny Reed’s Mobile Homes while Susi was a nurse in the NICU for a few years. Her love of people steered her to a new position at a mental health center where she helped patients battle alcohol and drug addiction.
While they have been in Rome, the Edwards have attended First Methodist Church of Rome. Susi became more and more involved in the church leadership that she left her job at the mental health center to become full time with the United Methodist Church. She was an integral part in training Methodist women in spiritual discipline workshops, office jobs, etc. Her work did not go unnoticed for she was named to the 14th Edition of Whose Who of American Women in 1988. Susi continued to work with the United Methodist church for 40 plus years while joining Reed and helping in the family business.
During her free time, Susi loves to read, sail, swim, and sing with the Three Rivers singers. She is hoping they can get back to performing soon! Next time you see Susi, make sure you say Hi!
