Sammy Rich was appointed Rome’s City Manager in July 2014, previously serving as Rome’s Assistant City Manager for 7 years. Having worked in local and state government since 1998, he previously held the position of Assistant County Manager for Floyd County, County Planner for Carroll County, and Urban Planning Engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Sammy holds both a B.S. in Geography & Planning and Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of West Georgia. Additionally, Sammy is involved in numerous professional organizations, including the Seven Hills Rotary Club, Georgia City-County Manager’s Association, and the International City-County Management Association of which he holds the ICMA Credentialed Manager designation. He is also a Leadership Rome and Leadership Georgia graduate.

Sammy’s presentation will be about the state of the City of Rome, specifically the progress of ongoing development and city projects. He will also discuss city finances, as well as expectations of the year ahead.
